WPLN Redesigns California Governor's
Book Fund Web Site

California's Governor, Gray Davis, has established the Governor's Book Fund, which is designed to attract private-sector resources to increase literacy in California and enhance the state's public school libraries. Governor Davis's administration is committed to improving the public school system and has pledged that every child in California will learn to read. Western/Pacific Literacy Network has joined the governor by providing in-kind support to the program, designing and maintaining the Governor's Book Fund Web site.

School libraries are encouraged to apply for one of several School Libaray Enrichment Grants, which offer a minimum of $5,000 to add books to libraries at every level of the public school system. To find out more about the Governor's Book Fund and the grant application, click here.
